About Homenetmen Los Angeles Chapter Center
Homenetmen Los Angeles Chapter Center provides comprehensive youth development programs combining athletic competition, scouting activities, and character education to serve young Armenian-Americans in Los Angeles, CA and the surrounding region. Since its establishment in 1968 as the founding chapter of the Western USA Region, Homenetmen LA has developed robust offerings across multiple disciplines. The athletic division serves over 6,000 members with state-of-the-art training facilities and competitive programs in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and table tennis. Athletes participate in local league competitions and major regional tournaments throughout California, including the renowned annual Navasartian Games—now in its fifth decade—which draws over 300 teams, 6,000 athletes, and 20,000 spectators across an eight-week competition period each summer. The scouting program, affiliated with the Boys Scouts of America, serves more than 3,000 scouts with weekly team-building activities, educational programs, and outdoor expeditions. Scouts develop leadership skills through structured activities, field trips to local attractions, and annual camping trips. The organization also hosts the KAHAM Inter-School Games annually, bringing together students throughout the Los Angeles area in basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track and field competition. Through these integrated programs, Homenetmen Los Angeles emphasizes physical fitness, moral development, and social responsibility while preserving Armenian cultural heritage and fostering a sense of community among young people.
